A man. A National Steel.
A foot, that provides the unrelenting beat. Stories of trash cans, broken hearts, yet always a little glimmer of hope.
All packed in the raw, lightning-pure sound of the early Delta and country blues. Seasoned with Jazz, Country, Folk and slideguitar pieces a`la Ry Cooder.
This original resonatorguitar-blues`n roots-cocktail was offered from a musician who travels his own path:
playing for more than a quarter of a century, including two years of street music in Germany, France and Spain, supportact in front of Duke Robillard, Long John Baldry, Spencer Davis Group, Big George Jackson, Byther Smith and others, guest at diverse festivals such as the Dobro-Fest in Slovakia, VW Jazz- and Bluesfestival, Dresden Blues-Festival, and of course countless gigs in clubs and on the radio.
Every slide a cry of the soul!
Reviews:
BLUES REVUE, USA, issue June/July 2002
"Larry O. Moan plays nothing but Mississippi-style guitar blues. His own"Can`t Find Nobody", "History in My Garbadecan" and "Blue Over You" have strong National steel guitar arrangements played with intensity and authority."
BLUSNEWS MAGAZINE, Edition 28
"Damn good Delta and country blues, canyon-deep voice, excellent picking, original tunes and style. Exceptional. The man doesn`t need to prove himself to any competitor. Recommended most highly!"
CROSSCUT RECORDS, 2002
"One of Germany`s most successful country blues players. He`s a great picker, and soulful singer. Originals and covers. Recommended."
GERMAN BLUES CIRCLE, October 2001
"With more than 25 years of experience, Larry plays very earnest, warm-sounding works, good musical ideas. His specialty: the slide playing, honest mandolin wailing, most excellent German acoustic bluesman!"
